How the evening works
The Gathering is an exclusive dining experience for Wainwright Consulting clients, hosted a few times a year.
Each evening follows the same rhythm: arrive, settle in over drinks, then sit down together for a three-course dinner in a private dining room. The conversation flows naturally, but we'll introduce a question or theme to the table — something real, something relevant, something worth chewing over.
You'll be seated alongside other founders and business owners from across our client base — different industries, different stages, all navigating the same challenges. The mix is deliberate. The thinking is better for it.
You'll leave with a full stomach, a fresh perspective and a few new people in your corner.
Who's at the table
The Gathering is exclusively for Wainwright Consulting clients. It’s one of the things that comes with working with us — access to a room full of ambitious, grounded business owners who are building, growing and figuring things out in real time.
This isn’t a networking event, and it’s not a room full of strangers exchanging pleasantries. Everyone at the table has been chosen for a reason. They’re people we know, people we work closely with, and people we believe will add something to the conversation — not just take from it.
You’ll be sat alongside founders and business owners from a range of industries and stages of growth. Some will be a few steps ahead of you, some right alongside you, and some facing completely different challenges — but all of them will recognise the reality of running a business. The pressure, the decisions, the moments where it’s not as straightforward as it looks from the outside.
What brings the room together isn’t what the businesses do, it’s how the people in them think. Open, honest, practical. Willing to share what’s working, what’s not, and what they’re still figuring out.
Why The Gathering exists
Running a business can be brilliant and lonely in the same breath.
The best conversations I've ever had as a business owner didn't happen in a boardroom or at a conference. They happened over food, over a drink, in a room where everyone felt they could be honest.
I've always believed that when you work with Wainwright, you're joining something bigger than a finance service. Our clients are some of the most ambitious, driven business owners I know, and too many of them are navigating similar challenges without ever meeting each other. That felt like a missed opportunity.
The Gathering changes that. It's a space for the conversations that don't happen often enough. Where our clients share what's actually going on, swap what's working, and remind each other they're not figuring it all out alone.
We created The Breather to help business owners recharge. The Gathering is the next step: a place where the people we work with and believe in can meet each other, support each other, and grow together.
